Who we are

The citizens of Lodi have always shown strong support for their community and also their Police Department.

But with budgetary constraints, the Lodi Police Department is challenged with maintaining their high level of service with fewer resources and reduced funding.

Many private persons and local businesses have expressed a willingness to donate money or other items to the Police Department. The Lodi Police Foundation provides the conduit where donations can be accepted and subsequently utilized by the Police Department in the form of grants.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (Federal tax ID: 20-1685628) that was formed to help bridge the gap between budget and reality.  Certain types of equipment, education, and community programs are made possible through our fundraising efforts.

In addition, the Lodi Police Foundation also provides funding to the Lodi Area Crime Stoppers, an organization that pays awards for crime tips.

Who we are not

It is the policy of the Lodi Police Foundation that funds that are raised or otherwise donated shall NOT be used in the following ways:

  • Political campaigns or endorsements

  • Equipment, staffing, or training that is otherwise funded by the City of Lodi through the normal city budget or reimbursed by the State of California

  • Funds will NOT be expended for projects or events that do not directly support the Lodi Police Department and its mission

  • The Board of Directors will not approve any equipment or campaign that does not have the specific endorsement of the Chief of Police

The Police Chief is a non-voting (ex-oficio) member of the Board of Directors and will be visible and supportive of the Lodi Police Foundation.  However, neither he nor his staff will solicit funding.
